My Life

Me

There are four main men in my life.

My Husband. My Horse. My Cats.

Its good to be a girl.

My husband’s name is Brad. He’s a bear of a man with a big heart and a soft spot for children and animals. We have been married for two and a half years, and together for almost ten. He is my rock, the anchor in the chaos of life. I never thought I would find someone who would really love me no matter what – but I am thankful every day that I did.

My horse’s name is Griffin. Like the heraldic animals of yesterday, he is full of courage, loyalty, and nobility. His beginnings are a mystery but every time I get to see him, he teaches me something new. We don’t know his breed or his true age, and its an important lesson in stereotyping. People try so hard to fit him into some sort of slot, as if labelling him would help them understand him. I refuse to add any labels to him other than those that can be clearly observed – its important to learn how to know people in a day to day basis rather than the boxes we try to stuff them into.

My cat’s name is Oscar. A random stray, this gorgeous orange tabby came into my life as a dear pet was leaving. His antics and keen intelligence keep us very entertained. About a year after we adopted Oscar, we adopted Felix from a kitty rescue. Felix is a grey tabby and very much the opposite of Oscar – thin where Oscar is chubby, active versus lazy, skittish versus calm. They love each other very much in a brotherly sense, as well as the sibling rivalry that goes with it!

    KELLY!

I figured I’d eventually be able to track you down if I Googled long enough. Jen and I have been wondering how you were and what you were up to…and with the wonderful magic of teh social intarwebs creeping into everyone’s life, now we know.

Married, eh? Congrats! Jen and I still haven’t, but we’re still together. We’re living up north, still, but in Virginia now. We now have four kids and we just bought a house (“just” as in “still unpacking”).

I’ve been doing radio and illustration (but not together because that would be silly), and Jen’s working as a secretary, and that’s pretty much it except for the private friends & family parts I don’t feel like announcing to the world.

Drop me an e-mail if you feel like it and we can catch up.
